Guest Hello I hope you are doing well. I suffered a stroke on dec 30 2017 I couldn't walk and my right hand and arm I had very limited movement. I pushed my self to walk and use my arm and hand. I just turned 60 in April and in 87 days I was back to work. I'm a union carpenter. I am not a 100 percent but I go to the gym min 3 days a week and watch my diet . So it is possible to get your life back but you have to work hard to get it. This is the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life and every day still has it's challenges . Hope this helps

Hello all,

I am 27 years old and suffered a severe stroke 6 months ago i currently have left sided paralysis and I have really thrown everything i've got into trying to recover my arm and hand. I keep getting told that the arm and hand take longer than the leg to come and i'm looking to talk to someone who has recovered from a stroke just to remind me that it is possible to re-gain functionality, what are the common problems that people have overcome when getting back into the 'real world'?
