They took a Cat Scan and said it was compatible with a stroke, stayed in the hospital and had another cat scan 48 hours later and the results were again stroke. The doctor said that the lesion was 8 in the first scan and 12.5 in the 2nd and had stopped. Now that I am home I am doubting myself and wondering if they made a mistake. Could they have made a mistake. My face is still crooked but I am starting to feel a slight difference in my mouth, being able to drink better without dribbling everywhere. Any ideas?

Minji: I had to put a napkin to the corner of my mouth to contain leakage. Needless to say I ate/drank alone when I did. People don't understand the humiliation of non control of motorskills. Went down to 89 lbs. from depression and motor control issues. Still have problems with corner of mouth, when tired/ or asleep.........My eye on affected side is still slightly droopy, but manageable, other stuff is permanent, for me, unfortunately.....trying to focus on control of facial muscles sometimes helps........

Minji I used to worry about having another stroke! Its been 2 years next Sunday since I had mine. So whats the use of worrying? Could get knocked down by a bus but I dont worry about that! I used to work with stroke victims until I reached retiring age 2 years ago. There were people who had had strokes years before but didnt have another. Take care.

Guest Hello there, your message just popped up...I saw the neurologist and it was a stroke. So now they are trying to figure out the causes. It was minor and I seem to have most of my face muscles back, just a slight muscle loss around the eye and above the mouth. Right now I am hooked up to a holter to check my heart. I find that I am more tired than usual but not much more than these symptoms. I am still trying to get my mind around all this....hard to do...will it happen again? or won't it.....
Thanks for keeping up with me Peter O.

Are you any better Mindy? Was it Bells Palsy or a stroke? I reckon you would be better off with Bells Palsy although it looks and feels dreadful I believe it eventually goes!
