I am Clarissa, a student from Nottingham University studying Rehabilitation Psychology at the masters level. I am currently doing my project which explores ethnic differences ( Black/ Caribbean British, British South Asian and White British) in well-being, coping and social support among stroke family caregivers.

Stroke survivors from differing ethnic upbringings can have varying caregivers practices because of the cultural norms and family structures. Evidence suggest that, ethnicity is a significant realm which shapes the care-giving experience. The topic is of importance because, it will ensure the identification of caregivers who might benefit from extra help.

Participation is entirely voluntary.

Eligibility criteria :

Black/ Caribbean British, British South Asian and White British caregivers who have been caring for a family, stroke survivor for more than 3 months. You should be able to read and understand the English language and you should be over the age of 18. After consenting, you will be asked to fill in a short questionnaire on well-being, coping and social support.

For further information about this study, please contact Clarissa Mensah, lpxcm10@nottingham.ac.uk.
